So, we need a good backronym for AWTR - unless, of course, y'all think we should stick with "All Were Thematically Revolting" even once shorn of its original context…

Wow. This is all exciting stuff, delta_vee. Nice job.
'A Wild Thematic Rant' would probably do in a pinch, but I'm eager to see what others (who have had more sleep) come up with.
Very interested to see where this goes. Any suggestions for how to accomplish the data archival? Might be simplest (though tiresome in some ways) to have the members port their own materials over from the thread.
That's sort of what I had in mind. If you want to do so, make pages in the wiki area for now - I still have to fiddle with a few things on the Wikidot side to get a good spot for such things (and a proper front page, too).
In the meantime, if there's any of my stuff that anyone thinks is worth keeping, feel free to port it on my behalf. There's a few things I've written which I want to keep, but I want to get this site up to par first.
I actually kind of like the idea of keeping the "All Were Thematically Revolting" tagline, to highlight our discussions with an accent of wry, faintly exasperated humor and subtle sarcasm in the spirit of Mark Twain or Edwin Newman. We would have to be constantly on our guard not to drift into pretentiousness, however.
Done. The Twain ref wins.
I also agree.
It not only speaks to our explorations regarding themes in stories, as well as their adequate representation in said stories, but 'revolting' also implies 'revolution', or change. Thus, it's like saying that we're also advocating for a storytelling revolution of sorts, where themes, plots and characters are consistently well-represented and adhered to in any body of work.
Thus, while we're studying the thematically revolting nature of many stories, we're also building a compendium of reasons for the revolution, and evolution, of storytelling as a medium.
So, yeah. I like it.
I'm good with 'All Were Thematically Revolting', it has a certain nostalgic charm to it. It can also serve as a warning sign sort of like "Never Forget". :-)

Noted, and agreed.
